🏠 Establishment / Formation

  • Vadavucode Block Panchayat came into existence in October 1961 as part of the Panchayati Raj system in Kerala
  • Located in Kunnathunad Taluk of Ernakulam District, this Block Panchayat has an area of 185.95 square kilometres
  • Six Grama Panchayats fall within this Block's jurisdiction: Aikaranad, Poothrikka, Mazhuvannoor, Kunnathunad, Thiruvaniyoor and Vadavucode-Puthencruz.

👥 Elected Body

  • There are a total of 14 Block Divisions
  • The 14 divisions are: 1. Pallikkara, 2. Vempilly, 3. Pattimattom, 4. Rubber Park, 5. Airapuram, 6. Mazhuvannoor, 7. Kadayiruppu, 8. Pankode, 9. Kolenchery, 10. Poothrikka, 11. Thiruvaniyoor, 12. Mattakuzhy, 13. Puthencruz, 14. Ambalamedu
  • A President and a Vice President are elected from among the 14 members
  • Statutory reservation exists for women and for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe categories

  • The Block Development Officer (BDO) is the official head and chief executive officer of the Block Panchayat
