Features of the Land Regions
Hilly Area
As it is a midland terrain, most of the block consists of sloping hilly areas. These are mainly used for rubber and coconut cultivation.
Plain Area
This includes the level areas between the hills and large valleys. Residential areas and a large share of the farmland are located on these plains.
Marshy Area
These are paddy fields, canals and low-lying marshlands where water stagnates during the monsoon. Paddy and vegetable cultivation are mainly carried out in these areas.
Water Resources
Tributaries of the Muvattupuzha River
The tributaries of the Muvattupuzha River, which flow along the southern and eastern boundaries of the block and through nearby areas, help maintain the groundwater level of this region.
Kadambrayar
The Kadambrayar, which passes through the Vadavucode-Puthencruz and Kunnathunad panchayats that share the western boundary of the block, is an important water source here.
